To Facebook or Not...

Jacob & I have had some pressure to join Facebook; or in my case, to rejoin Facebook. I signed up originally to find out what the whole craze was about but after being a member for a few months I canceled and moved on with my life. (In the words of Theo, "Not Impressed".)

People talk about Facebook like its the "cool kid" at school and you got to be their friend to be popular. I'm not into being popular or do something just because everyone else is doing it. I figure, I'm not a person who is going to be friends with a lot of people in my life and those that I do want to have a relationships with I will have no matter if I have a virtual relationship with or not.

One reason we would like to join Facebook is because we do have some friends who are not local that we would still like to keep in touch with and Facebook seems like a good place to do it. But that is still not a big motivating factor because we can still keep in touch with them other ways too.

Looking at pictures of and being friends with people online who you can be friends with in real life is just not enough for me to take the plunge. So we'll just sit back & relax with our blog and you can visit us here if you really want to have a virtual relationship with us.

Who knows maybe you'll see us pop up on Facebook some day but until then, the question for us still will be, to Facebook or not to Facebook...

  2. I still think you should just make a fake account with a name that nobody but family knows so we can at least share pictures! LOL

  3. This is funny. I think you're trying too hard to be "un-cool". Some kids try really hard to be cool. Other kids try really hard to be not cool... You're really over-thinking this decision. Having a Facebook account is about as much work as having an email account. It's really no big deal.

  5. Glad to finally have you on Facebook, even though you have reservations. I know my reservations about it.

I'm wondering what made you change your mind, M.F.?
